Former music diva Brandy recently attempted to sue her record label Chameleon, claiming the label had failed to promote her music to her satisfaction as of late…
But the record label didn’t take the accusations against them lying down, particularly the outrageous claims made by the singer that signing with them was tantamount to slavery…
Chameleon reps hit back at Brandy, saying the singer has no business comparing her contract to slavery … especially since it’s been more than a decade since she dropped a hit…no word if she checked into a burn ward after that one.
CEO Breyon Prescott has made it a matter of public record that he thinks Brandy’s allegations are a desperate ploy to drum up publicity instead of facing facts — her best days are behind her, and she is an aging nd irrelevant pop culture relic.
Breyon even managed to paint Chameleon as a potential victim, stating that he took a risk “signing an artist that hasn’t had a chart single success since the early 2000’s.”
Chameleon Entertainment also believes Brandy made a boneheaded PR move by making the slavery comparison while racial tensions across the country right now are spiraling out of control in the media.
Brandy and her lawyer reportedly reviewed the contract before signing, so Chameleon finds it more than a little odd that Brandy is now now crying foul about the terms of the deal she willfully signed.
Brandy seems to still think it’s the late 90s…
