The start of the week features supermodel drama between Rebecca Romijn and Gigi Hadid. Well, not Gigi directly but her mother Yolanda Hadid, who came to her defense when she cried foul over something Rebecca Romijn said…
When the former supermodel spoke with Entertainment Tonight, she dissed models Kendall Jenner and Gigi and described them as “not true supermodels.” What does it take to be a real supermodel anyway?
For Romijn, it’s clearly not just about earning money or being popular in social media.

“No one has proven yet that numbers of followers translates to revenue. So it is frustrating. I know a lot of people — legitimate fashion people — can’t stand it. Hate it that these, you know, social media stars are now the supermodels in fashion. They are not true supermodels,” said Romijn.
“And the thing is, I have always looked to Vogue magazine to lead the way, not be a follower. I rely on Vogue to set the standard, not follow what everybody else is doing. So I have been disappointed that fashion magazines have been supporting this trend of social media stars to set our style standards. But it will change; fashion always does.”
Clearly, Romijn didn’t hold back with her statement and it brought out the mom in Foster. In her first tweet, she pointed out that the girls she’s referring to are kind and hardworking and have accomplished so much in the fashion industry even at half Romijn’s age.
She then followed it up with another tweet saying “It’s THEIR hard work and daily commitment to their profession that got them where they R today #NoParentsInvolved.”
Foster was obviously throwing shade at Romijn, who replied in a very enthusiastic manner. “Woohoo!
Twitter beef cherry popped! (Heart) You @YolandaHFoster @Andy”
Can we say that all’s well that ends well now?
