More than 600,000 people have given the pending reboot of a beloved cinematic classic a thumbs down online.
In fact, the trailer for this summer’s ‘Ghostbusters‘ remake has set a new milestone as the most disliked movie trailer in YouTube’s entire history.
The remake of ‘Ghostbusters’ is scheduled to drop in July. Headlined by Bridesmaids‘s Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy alongside Saturday Night Live‘s Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as part of an all-female ensemble, the girl power project was supposed to add estrogen to a retelling of the classic 1984 male driven original.

Since debuting on March 3, the ‘Ghostbusters’ trailer has compiled a whopping 29.2 million views and has picked up over 604,000 down-votes from viewers. Those who enjoyed the trailer and “liked” it come in at 208,606 at the time of writing.
Not only is ‘Ghostbusters’ the most disliked trailer of all-time, but it lands at number 23 in the list of most disliked videos on YouTube overall. But alas Justin Bieber‘s breakout single ‘Baby’ remains the most disliked YouTube clip in history with over 6 million thumbs down.
The studio is already in damage control, doing their best to spin the public disdain for the needless remake, but odds are nothing will save this pending atrocity….and YouTube is the proverbial canary in the mine shaft warning all that a box office collapse is imminent.
Some feminists have insisted the backlash against the trailer is inspired by sexism, but the reality is the movie is simply an affront to good taste.
