The pop megastar is rumored to be leaving her label, XL Recordings…
And Adele‘s rumored suitor is none other than Sony Records…where she’s expected to be signing a deal worth £90 million…that’s $130 million US dollars for those of you trying to convert the currency in your head.
The singer has been signed to her label XL Recordings (home of Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, Jack White) since the beginning of her explosive career, but now it appears that she’s ready to leave the nest and ink a deal with the big boys…leaving indie labels in the past as the promise of vast commercial riches await her at Sony.

And it’s hard to blame her…because she and Sony seem to have just secured a deal which would be the most expensive in music history.
The transition won’t be a huge one, however, just the bank transactions, since Sony’s American avatar, Columbia Records, already releases her music in the US.
A Sony source in the UK revealed the news, “We had an existing relationship with Adele in America. The deal is being worked on by Columbia in the US, but it’s worth £90 million and gives Sony the rights to release Adele’s future music exclusively around the world.”
The rumored deal would double Adele’s current £85 million fortune overnight…once again, for you currency convertors that would be around $120 million US dollars.
The new record deal would shatter the long-held record for the most expensive recording contract, which has been held by Robbie Williams since he signed on with EMI for £80 million ($110 million US dollars) back in 2002.
The previous most expensive deal for a female artist was signed by the late Whitney Houston in 2001, when she inked a deal with Arista for £70 million (roughly $100 million US dollars) in 2001.
