No other actress has been in as many blockbuster motion pictures over the course of their career than she has…not even the longevity of Sigourney Weaver in the ‘Alien’ and ‘Ghostbusters’ franchises could compete with Scarlett’s prowess as Black Widow in the Marvel universe.
The accolade comes from Box Office Mojo’s updated list of top-earning actors, which places Scarlet at No. 10 with a $3.3 billion North American total, led by Marvel’s ‘The Avengers.’ The 31-year-old actress also counts among her credits a cadre of commercial hits such as ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ ‘Iron Man 2,’ ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Lucy.’
Johansson, who began her film career as a child in the mid-1990s, is the youngest performer to appear in the Top 30 — and the only woman.
She tops notable leading men such as Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio for her box office triumphs….but trails far behind the kings of the all time Hollywood box office.
Harrison Ford tops the list with $4.87 billion domestically, followed by Samuel L. Jackson ($4.65 billion), Morgan Freeman ($4.4 billion), Tom Hanks ($4.3 billion) and Robert Downey Jr. ($3.9 billion).
