Divorces are ugly, especially when there are children involved. In this case, there are six children involved, which is why Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are taking the necessary steps to ensure that their kids don’t get traumatized.
After Angelina filed for divorce, she also asked for temporary custody of the kids (which she was given) and granted Brad visitation rights. However, all visits with the kids will be done in the presence of a therapist, no exceptions. Both Angelina and Brad are taking therapy sessions separately, which is why Brad’s reunion with the kids is subject to being monitored.
Remember when Angelina said that her tipping point was when Brad had a physical confrontation with son Maddox in their private jet last month? Well, Brad has not seen Maddox since, but he did see the other five children. The therapist felt it just wasn’t the right time then. However, Brad has finally reunited with Maddox recently, according to TMZ. Of course, the face-to-face meeting was also monitored by a therapist.
The temporary custody agreement just came to an end and there’s no telling which direction the ex-couple will go from here. The L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services are still trying to get to the bottom of the plane incident. Although the FBI got involved, sources from the department said that there’s no investigation going on, just some fact-finding. Plus, there wasn’t even a case to file against Brad as there was no evidence found.
Although the divorce is still pushing through, TMZ reports that Angelina “still wants their family to function with a fully involved father and mother.” If that’s what works…anything for the kids!
