The show’s triple threat was truly one for the books. You can’t ask for more than to have Coldplay, Bruno Mars, and Beyoncé team up for one of the best, and most star-studded halftime shows in memory.

Coldplay, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars performed during the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show and really nailed it. The British band opened the show first with their early hit “Yellow” and then continued with “Viva la Vida,” where the group was accompanied by a group of kids playing an orchestra. Lead singer Chris Martin then sang “Paradise” before transitioning to “Adventure of a Lifetime.”

Bruno Mars and his entourage appeared in matching black leather outfits, then took the stage and showcased a spectacular “Uptown Funk” number. It was all simply epic: their dance moves, and the spinning by Mark Ronson. They were show stoppers in motion!

Then the one and only Beyonce appeared and took over once Mars wrapped up “Uptown Funk,” dancing and slaying fans out on the field with a group of dancers while performing “Formation”. The Queen B paid homage to Michael Jackson with her outfit: dressed in a black custom leather jacket with gold metal military details designed by Dean and Dan Caten, all which harkened back to the King of Pop’s 1993 Super Bowl attire.
The three artists were then onstage for an amazing finale and a reprisal of “Uptown Funk.”

It didn’t stop there though, because Martin took to the piano to play “Fix You” while a collection of past Halftime Show performances played on the screen. Nostalgia and other sorts of emotions were on cue while singing Coldplay’s “Up & Up.” The show ended with the “Believe In Love” message, highlighted by colored signs from the stadium crowd.
Bruno was the star of the Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show back in 2014 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. His performance was later nominated for a prime time Emmy award for Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program.

Coldplay’s front man shared in a Super Bowl press conference that their performance was inspired by one of their favorite music festivals. “One of our favorite places to play in the world is a place called Glastonbury festival, which is a big music festival that happens in England,” he said. “It’s full of color and pageantry, and it’s an amazing sort of spiritual home of music in England.”
“We wanted to bring that sort of vibe to the Super Bowl halftime show,” he continued. “We can’t compete with amazing dance routines and all of that. We have to try to do what comes naturally to us, which is to try and provide a bit of fun and a great atmosphere for people to come and be together and be communal and enjoy the general experience.“
