Bill Murray is going to try his hand at being a bartender in Brooklyn for just this weekend…something he did impromptu at SXSW in Austin several years ago.
According to reports, the “Ghostbusters” alum will be serving drinks behind his son Homer’s bar, located at 21 Greenpoint in Brooklyn, as part of the new joint’s opening weekend on Friday and Saturday night.
The New York Daily News spoke with a manager at the bar, who revealed that the opening weekend, which was originally an invite-only affair, has now been made open to the public. “He’ll probably make whatever he wants,” the manager said of the famed actor. “Fans are calling from five hours away saying they want to meet him.”

Noting the openness of it all, the manager added, “We’re not turning people away. People who have been invited are definitely getting in, and then we’ll do our best to accommodate any fans.”
Meanwhile, Murray’s son, who has transformed his former seafood restaurant into a more upscale dining experience in conjunction with his partner, Syd Silver, told Eater, “We want people to come and have fun.” He added, “People can walk in; just be nice. What my dad lacks in experience, he makes up for in tequila.”
