Funny girl talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is facing an absurd lawsuit that could have free speech implications in the entertainment industry for years…
It turns out that a Georgia woman has no sense of humor, and feels she has been ridiculed by being made the butt of Ellen’s “boob joke”…you can’t make this stuff up.
The woman claiming defamation is named Titi Pierce, and she was none too keen to hear her name turned into a mammary punchline on national television.
Titi’s real estate business was featured on a February 22 episode of Ellen during the These Signs “What’s Wrong With ” segment. Though Pierce pronounces her first name “Tee Tee,” Ellen read her sign “titty pierce” which apparently was a devastatingly clever pun for poor Titi’s ears…
The lawsuit claims that Pierce has never been referred to as “Titty” “in her 35 years of life.”
And frankly the incredulity of that claim would make a politician blush with shame.
There ain’t no way a 35 year old woman named Titi has avoided being called Titty at some point, unless she’s particularly hard of hearing.
Pierce further alleges that the show failed to blur out her personal cell phone number on the sign, and that she received “hundreds” of phone calls from viewers during the funeral of a family member.
“As a direct and proximate result of the Defendant’s conduct, Ms. Pierce has suffered stress, emotional distress, embarrassment, humiliation, anger and other mental pain and suffering,” the lawsuit assesses.
And we’re sorry for you, Titi, we really are…and we’re glad you got that off of your chest…
