Celebrities do not spend their holidays like we common folk. They like to go to exotic places and exclusive resorts to party away from the public’s prying eyes.
Here are some of the places you’re most likely catch a glimpse of the stars away from the red carpets.
BARBADOS
X Factor judge Simon Cowell strolls with his partner Lauren Silverman and the couple’s baby along the beautiful beaches of Barbados over the holidays.
Simon also went with his sweetheart’s pals Union J and Lizzie Cundy,Tulisa Contostavlos, Sarah-Jane Crawford.
But they weren’t the lone celebs on the island. A-list actor Mark Wahlberg was seen enjoying the sand and the sea with his wife Rhea Durham and their four children.
Barbados native Rihanna often spends some time enjoying the holidays with her family. But not too long, it was reported she boarded a luxury yacht to travel to her next destination St. Barts.
ST BARTS
This exclusive island is a celebrity favorite for its low tourism, allowing a reprieve from the fishbowl of stardom.
But a stay here is not cheap. A dinner in one of its famous restaurant Maya is worth a million thanks to its deep-pocketed clientele such as Heidi Klum and her beau Vito Schnabel, Lana Del Rey and her Italian lover Francesco Carrozzini, and Salma Hayek and her billionaire husband Francois-Henri Pinault.
Socialite and “Made In Chelsea” star Spencer Matthews was also spotted on the island with her current love interest Lauren Hutton. His family owns the Eden Hotel in the area- an exclusive place for the rich and famous.
Asked about the place, he revealed it has various amenities like ultra-luxurious suites, a black tiled pool with outdoor Jacuzzi, a terrace, kitchen, butlers, pool table and its own personal bar.
MIAMI
Miami- the favored celebrity US destination over the holidays. The perfect coastline and hot temperatures make it ideal to spend the hours on the beach away from the cold of New York.Stars that spent the holidays in the Florida sun included Kelly Bensimon, Bethenny Frankel and Real Housewives’ stars Ramona Singer.Entourage star Adrian Grenier was spotted strolling the beach, as was singer Leann Rimes.
Big stars such Pitbull and Usher reportedly threw lavish parties on Wednesday night, booking some of the most exclusive clubs in Miami with their high octane guest lists.
BRAZIL
Famous for their gorgeous beaches, stars have taken a shine to Brazil.Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana beach is renowned for its golden sands, and many tourists have been dying to spend the New Year there. It’s also a local tradition that a dip in the harbor and jumping over seven waves is a sign of good luck for the new year ahead.No wonder Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell have been sighted enjoying the scenery.
Another colleague Alessandra Ambrosio, who is a native of Rio, was seen partying the night away.
DUBAI
Celebrities are always in search of the perfect place to spend the end of the year. And a worthy destination is Dubai.
Pals Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, and Gigi Hadid spent the night away in the desert playground.
Selena even tweeted about her posh hotel: ‘Honestly the absolute best way to end my year. Hope you all have a blessed new year! #hoteljumeirah.’
MALDIVES
The breathtaking islands of Maldives are famous for crystal turquoise waters and exceptional beaches. And it has long been the go-to choice of the Beckhams when they need an escape.
After spending Christmas at their London home, the gorgeous pack flew thousands of miles just to catch some waves.
And it’s not cheap either.
Gordon Ramsay’s family stayed at the Reethi Rah resort, where they were charged £200,000 ($300,000).
Even more UK celebs flocked to the exclusive paradise this winter: Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof and Daisy Lowe. All of which were reported to have been enjoying the sand.
