A supposedly amicable split last spring between the Oscar winning actress and the Coldplay front man has taken an awkward turn toward the potentially nasty.
Paltrow filed for divorce April 20, 2015. And Chris Martin was served with legal docs on May 18th, but the case has laid dormant ever since then. According to legal docs the Coldplay singer never even filed an answer to her divorce petition.
What does this all mean you ask?
Well the judge has now notified Gwyneth and Chris that Martin hasn’t followed through on his end, and the Iron Man actress may now be eligible to get a default judgment. Typically, that means she’d get everything that she asked for in her divorce petition.
A custody battle over the couple’s children is also not yet settled. No word where their daughter Apple Martin or son Moses Martin may be taking up their primary residence.
Rumors are swirling that behind the scenes the business managers for Gwyneth and Chris have been privately hashing out a settlement, dividing up their considerable assets as evenly as possible.
Gwyneth and Chris have tried to stay close friends – despite Martin’s romantic trysts with Jennifer Lawrence and his most recent bedroom playmate Annabelle Wallis.
But either way, it doesn’t appear that Chris Martin has been terribly “conscious” during this uncoupling…
