You’ll have to excuse Paris police if they don’t find Kim Kardashian‘s robbery story to be very plausible.
They may be French, but they can recognize a little Swiss Cheese when they see it…
Questions abound about the tale Kim has told about her night of peril, one which allegedly saw the reality tv starlet bound and gagged at gunpoint, and robbed of millions worth of jewelry.
But how did five armed men get into her apartment?
While detectives are satisfied that the robbers could have easily tricked their way into the luxury apartment block in Paris, it is not clear how they got into her actual living quarters.
Where was her security detail?
Why would/ did Kim answer the door at an ungodly hour of the night?
Why was there no sign of forced entry anywhere?
‘This is the baffling part of the inquiry,’ said a source close to the investigation. ‘The door is armored and easily locked from the inside.
‘We are dealing with a young woman who was sleeping alone with a hugely valuable amount of jewellery.
‘She would never open the door in the middle of the night in these circumstances, so who did?’
Paris detectives admit that the high-profile crime is one of the strangest they have had to deal with in recent memory.
They assumed that Ms Kardashian would have been surrounded by her own private security guards, and that she would never have kept such valuable jewellery out and about with her while sleeping alone.
There is also concern that Kim effectively fled France within a few hours of the robbery – heading back to the USA on a private plane on Monday morning.
She gave a statement to police, but in normal circumstances the victim of such a serious crime would be expected to be interviewed at length by both police and prosecutors.
Police have also made much of the fact that the attackers focused on ‘possessions that had been seen and noticed via social media.’
Four days ago, Kim posted a close-up photograph of a huge diamond ring on her left hand captioned with three diamond emojis.
Adding to the bewildering mystery is who actually called police?
The concierge was bound and gagged just like Kim was, they weren’t getting free to make any phone calls, so who made the distress call to Paris police?
Whatever the case, the five-member gang was apparently so relaxed that some of them made their escapes on hire bicycles known as velibs following the 2.30am crime.
The fear of being caught in the act evidently not a clear and present danger to any of them.
Just days before the attack, Kim heaped mountains of praise on her German bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, after he protected her from a notorious celebrity prankster who tried to kiss her buttocks while she was entering a restaurant….and we all know that’s E!‘s job…
But Mr Duvier was apparently out at a nightclub with other Kardashian family members on the morning of the crime….Kylie Jenner had reportedly flown in to town.
Numerous theories about the identity of the gang involved have been put forward, including that they are ‘Pink Pathers’ – a notorious organized crime syndicate made up mainly of Eastern European gangsters.
But the Panthers are known for escaping the scene of their crimes in high-end sports cars, rather than bicycles…and making off with millions in jewelry isn’t really their style…
As it stands police are unimpressed with Kim’s side of the story, and would really like to catch up to those bicycle pedaling jewel thieves for questioning.
For as of now they’re all gone with the Schwinn…
