Taylor Swift once described the relationship as a “magical” one, while Calvin Harris once said that being in a relationship with Taylor made him tick boxes he never knew existed. And yet, after 15 months of dating, they’re done.
Who broke up with who you ask? Well, it was Calvin who broke up with Taylor. But we’re sure you’re wondering, what the hell happened that ended this relationship?
Everyone thought that their relationship was getting stronger. Despite Calvin’s recent accident, Taylor remained at his side and cared for him. However, it seemed like Calvin has been thinking about the breakup for a while now.
E! News reported that the romance just wasn’t there anymore. A source elaborated:
“Adam (Harris’ real name) really liked Taylor, she was not the type of girl he ever dates and he liked that. He liked how innocent Taylor was and that she had a good caring heart. Taylor’s heart was more in it then he was. He started to lose interest over the past few months, but really tried to not just break up.”
Adding insult to injury, the source also noted that Taylor and Calvin weren’t too compatible and the touring didn’t help them. In fact, the leak even confided to the media that “they were more friends than lovers.” Ouch!
What about Taylor’s side of the story? Apparently, Taylor isn’t taking the breakup well and has sought comfort from her friends and family in Nashville. An E! News sourced shared that Taylor was quite disappointed with the relationship too, saying:
“She felt like he wasn’t taking it seriously enough and wouldn’t come through for her when she needed him most. She felt down and like her needs weren’t being met. She doesn’t want to get back together.”
Although this is certainly bad news for all Swifties and Calvin fans, the good news is that no one cheated and there’s no third party involved. The better news is that the ex-couple are still friends and the breakup was done in a mature way… yes no 10-second phone calls this time around.
Taylor and Calvin have not spoken publicly about the breakup as of yet…but something tells us that Calvin has definitely made it on to Taylor’s forthcoming album next year, if you know what we mean…
