Video has leaked that reportedly reveals that Star Wars VIII is officially titled ‘Star Wars: Fall of the Resistance’. This has not been confirmed or denied by either LucasFilm or Disney at this time.
The footage first emerged on Reddit, and features a sign that will reportedly be unveiled at some point during the big July Star Wars Celebration.
Some speculate that this is all a hoax, as we’ve seen happen in the past, so take it all with a grain of salt until sources can be absolutely confirmed.
This also could be for some other officially licensed Star Wars tie-in.
Though it falls in line with the even numbered movies having a villain themed title. If you listen carefully during the video, there are a lot of people near wherever this was shot, meaning it was a public unveiling of some select fashion. So why did it get leaked so early? It seems intentional…
Just like ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, ‘Fall of the Resistance’ appears to hint at a darker movie than its predecessor.
We can expect this to be confirmed or debunked fairly soon, and we probably won’t have to wait until July for it to happen.
