Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have busy Hollywood careers, but they have made a strong commitment to all of their children, with an insider telling OK Magazine that the couple is supporting their daughter Shiloh on her “gender identity” quest.
Apparently the Jolie-Pitt offspring is having trouble deciding if she wants to be Tomboy or a girly girl…
Desiring to “identify as a boy,” the 10-year-old has a closet filled with clothing designed for boys, noted the source, who revealed that Brad and Angelina’s daughter does not own any girls’ attire.
“Shiloh’s so funny about her wardrobe and she couldn’t be more different from her sisters,” revealed the insider.
“We had to cut her hair,” Jolie commented. “She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.”Angelina and Brad are “being extremely responsible about her tomboy ways,” the source concluded.
Brad Pitt and Angelina have quietly looked ahead to Shiloh’s teens, and reached out for professional help should she still have some gender identity questions entering high school.
The celebrity power couple are privately alarmed that she could face severe ridicule and teasing from schoolmates going forward if she doesn’t behave in a feminine manner after puberty.
Angelina has been candid about their child in terms of her hair and preference for boys’ clothes. In addition, it was Pitt who revealed in an interview that Shiloh was trying to go by the boy name of “John”, often correcting him when he would call her by her feminine birth name.
The 10-year-old girl also made an impression by showing up in a suit and tie that matched her big brothers’ at a recent Jolie film red carpet event.
But tomboy behavior in a pre-adolescent girl with a bunch of big brothers isn’t a red flag in and of itself that gender confusion is taking root in young Shiloh…if anything the confusion is probably in her “progressive” minded parents, who don’t know the politically correct way to handle this phase of her life…as fleeting as it probably is going to be.
Parents love their children no matter what, but one can’t help and wonder aloud if interpreting gender confusion out of what may only be tomboy behavior isn’t ultimately a form of child abuse…
