The flamboyant hip hop star held a huge show to kick off New York Fashion Week on Roosevelt Island on Wednesday
Kanye West is not stranger to controversy, he seems to court it like a Victorian suitor.
His foray into fashion appears to be no different as he debuted his Yeezy Season 4 collection in elaborate style to kick off New York Fashion Week.
But this show was less sensational and more catastrophe – with models toppling over in the baking heat, fainting on the sidelines – and, to top it all off, the clothes were dismissed by fashion critics…
The hip hop icon, who has previously been successful at dabbling in the fashion world, dreamed up a unique way to showcase his collection to an audience on Roosevelt Island on Wednesday, where he invited top editors, bloggers and social media stars to feast their eyes upon his latest creations…
But the unique display was hampered by reports that models were fainting and in desperate need of water as they were forced to stand in the baking heat without shade….apparently it just wasn’t in the budget to provide a little H20…perhaps if Adam Sandler had been on site he could’ve prevented the debacle…
It’s been reported that Kanye’s show started over 90 minutes later than its scheduled start time, keeping ill-prepared models roasting in the sun…and refreshing beverages and shade were hard to come by.
One model face planted into the grass before the show even started…
Other guests, who were specifically invited by Kanye, moaned that they were not given any snacks or water on the buses.
Once at the destination guests claimed that they were then forced to wait in line in the hot heat – but they were able to get their hands on some Yeezy merchandise which was on the pricey side. No freebies…you’d think a cheapskate like Kanye would’ve at least thought of selling bottled water…
