It was a seismic event in world affairs, one felt on both sides of the Atlantic, and British and American celebrities all had opinions they couldn’t resist sharing with the world on Twitter…
Some gnashed their teeth and others rejoiced, but one thing celebrities that spoke out about Brexit were not is apathetic…
Some, however, (and we’re looking at you Lindsay Lohan) should’ve just shut up.
In fact, some have wondered aloud what Lohan was smoking while on twitter as she offered up her ideas on British economic policy…Lohan deleted all of her rants, but not before the internet saved them FOREVER…
#ICYMI @lindsaylohan went all @georgesoros last night, rant since deleted 🤔 pic.twitter.com/edkMsWL3Ub

But it wasn’t quite the about face that presidential candidate Hillary Clinton made, when in true politician’s fashion she changed her position on Brexit after speaking out against it in the weeks leading up to the referendum.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling was among the most cynical voices to emerge in the aftermath of the vote for Britain to abandon the European Union…
I don’t think I’ve ever wanted magic more. https://t.co/gVNQ0PYIMT

Scotland will seek independence now. Cameron’s legacy will be breaking up two unions. Neither needed to happen. https://t.co/4MDj7pndcq

‘Late Show’ funnyman James Corden, himself a Brit living in the United States, couldn’t hide his personal disappointment in the result of the referendum…
I can’t get my head around what’s happening in Britain.I’m so sorry to the youth of Britain. I fear you’ve been let down today x
— James Corden (@JKCorden) June 24, 2016
‘House‘ actor Hugh Laurie used sarcasm to get his point across…
Congratulations exiters. Reverse is across and down, easy on the clutch.

Comic author Neil Gaiman was none too pleased with the outcome of the vote either…

Neil.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan added some levity to the aftermath…
I’m trying to find out how Winterfell voted on the Brexit.

Controversial English tabloid writer Piers Morgan gave his two cents…
Remain fought a shockingly deluded campaign. Refused to engage properly with immigration debate. Insisted it was about economy. It wasn’t.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 24, 2016
And of course presidential candidate Donald Trump, who actually predicted the Brexit vote, took the time to brag about his correct prediction…
Just arrived in Scotland. Place is going wild over the vote. They took their country back, just like we will take America back. No games!
