What an emotional time it has been for Celine Dion.

Last Thursday, her husband, René Angélil, passed away after a long battle with cancer. Two days later, the death of her brother Daniel Dion followed.
The 47–year–old icon is set to get right back in the saddle on Saturday, putting on a brave face when she takes the stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. This is just a day after Angelil’s funeral at Notre–Dame Basilica in Montreal, as the mourning pop diva is attempting to get back to living her life.

Perhaps singing and performing will bring Celine much needed comfort. A source tells People:
“That’s what René would want. He wants her to perform and come back. He knew her better than anybody and he probably knows that’s what she needs too, to perform.”
Last year, Celine rarely left her longtime love’s side:
“Some days he could get up and walk around the room, play with the kids. Some days he was too tired. She didn’t travel anywhere. She wanted to be with him 24/7 in case anything happened.”

The late manager’s Vegas business associates are feeling the sting of his death as well. AEG Live Vice President John Nelson revealed in a statement:
“We are heartbroken to hear this news. Not only because René was a great friend and mentor and an extraordinary partner with us in these shows at Caesars Palace for the last 13 years, but even more because he and Celine were so devoted to each other; their relationship has been a model for us all. René was the most brilliant, generous and loyal partner one could have in business. And after the work was done, René was such a fun and joyful friend who loved to entertain, eat amazing meals, and tell great stories. There will never be another one like René.”
It’s a good sign that Celine Dion is back on her feet after these tragic events. What are your thoughts on this? Share it with us below or join the discussion on our Facebook page. Don’t forget to subscribe!
