Chevy Chase’s Latest “Vacation”…Drug Rehab

SNL alumni and 80s comedy star Chevy Chase is having to check himself back into drug rehab after apparently relapsing back into addiction.

His rep conformed that Chevy has sought help from a clinic for his on-going battle with alcoholism.

The 72-year-old is unfortunately no stranger to the rehab circuit either, back in 1986, the then 43-year-old comedy actor was at the height of his powers as a force in Hollywood, but hopelessly addicted to pain killers, he checked himself in to the Betty Ford Clinic in an effort to sober up.

At the time, Chase’s publicist said the actor had developed a “dependency on prescription drugs relating to chronic and long-term back problems” incurred during his time as a cast member on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

It was an especially ironic clinic to check in to at that, one named after the former First Lady, who’s husband was President Gerald Ford, a man Chase would regularly skewer and impersonate on SNL.

We of course wish Chevy the best while he recovers, and hope he has a long and restful Vacation
