Presidential hopeful Donald Trump took his dispute with Mexico to Twitter yesterday, prompting Mexico’s embattled el presidente to respond in kind.
Trump was insistent that Mexico will pay for his proposed border security wall.
Mexico will pay for the wall!

But Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto didn’t roll over and let the jab slide…
“I repeat what I said in person, Mr. Trump: Mexico would never pay for a wall,” Peña Nieto wrote….in Spanish….so Trump probably couldn’t read it.
Repito lo que le dije personalmente, Sr. Trump: México jamás pagaría por un muro. https://t.co/IJNVe0XepY

The exchange echoed a dispute the two had in the hours after their private meeting on Wednesday.
But Trump told reporters he and Peña Nieto “didn’t discuss” Mexico paying for the wall, prompting a Twitter reply from Peña Nieto in which the Mexican president said that “at the beginning of the conversation with Donald Trump, I made clear that Mexico would not pay for the wall.”
In any event, this appears to be The Donald’s first foray into foreign relations, and if it’s a taste of things to come should he be elected the 45th President of the United States, then it should make for an entertaining four years…
