The Hollywood icon, who first rocketed to fame as the dashing rogue pilot Han Solo in 1977’s cult favorite “Star Wars”, has returned to the cockpit mere months after a plane crash that almost claimed his life.
The 73-year-old screen legend looked to be in fine form while he climbed into his private helicopter. Arriving at a private airfield in Santa Monica, the veteran actor looked ready to get back in to the wild blue yonder.
A mechanical failure almost led to disaster for Harrison back in March, when the fast thinking movie star was forced to crash land on a golf course, before blacking out from his injuries. But despite the brush with death, this is one crash survivor determined to fly again.

Meanwhile, Ford’s latest reprisal of his signature role as Han Solo is setting box office records, easily surpassing the one billion dollar mark a mere ten days into the theatrical run of the sci-fi fantasy. “The Force Awakens” has become the fastest movie in Hollywood history to eclipse the ten digit box office number, crushing its predecessors to the mark.
Harrison Ford reportedly made a handsome sum for his participation in the newest “Star Wars” sequel, and wasted no time lavishing himself with this magnificent helicopter, as a bold return to piloting so soon after flirting with the grave.
But we couldn’t expect it any other way from the Indiana Jones star, he’s America’s favorite silver screened hero for a reason, because he is the real McCoy when all is said and done. And no mere aircraft mechanical mishap is going to keep Han Solo from taking to the skies. Here’s hoping to many happy landings in Mr. Ford’s future.
We’re beginning to think he’s as indestructible as the matinee idols he plays.
May the Force be with you, Harrison…the box office certainly has been.
