In a classic example of life imitating art, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are going to go to counseling…this doesn’t mean the marriage is saved mind you, the divorce is still on.
So don’t get your hope up that Brangelina will be salvaged, more than anything this is just a few hoops being jumped through to keep up appearances that the two can play nice for the sake of their six kids.
Just the same, Brad Pitt is reportedly devastated by the pending divorce, and the potential loss of custody of his kids.
“He can’t believe this is what his life has become and he’s in bad shape but the kids are the only thing he’s hanging onto,” a Us Weekly source spilled. The source also shared that Brad is depending on his family, friends and manager for support.
A provisional deal wash hashed out by the feuding couple’s reps, and it appears that Angelina is prepared to conditionally walk back her demand for sole custody of the children…provided that brad meets some of her demands, among them counseling and drug testing.
To date Brad has obliged, determined to remain an influence in the lives of his children as much as possible.
Right now, Brad and Angelina both have joint legal custody of the kids. However, the kids will be staying with their mom. Brad can get visitation rights but when he does, he will do it in the presence of a therapist.
After 12 years of being together, Angelina cited Brad’s behavior around the kids as the main reason for their divorce. Brad was rumored to have drinking problems, cheating, toking up on marijuana too often, and even physically hurting the kids while inebriated.
Angelina originally wanted to bar Brad from custody of the children, but on a trial basis at least, there appears to be a game plan in place to try and keep him in their everyday lives.
