The fallout has been ugly as big screen funny man Sacha Baron Cohen, who had been slated to play the role of legendary music front man Freddie Mercury, has unceremoniously parted ways with the film project.
The acrimony came to a head about a month ago, when Cohen claimed that the surviving band members were seeking to sanitize the notoriously wild living of their deceased lead singer.

But creative differences took a personal turn for the worse when rock legend Brian May, Queen’s esteemed guitarist, took extreme exception to Cohen’s claims in the press.
May went on record to say:
“Sacha became an arse. We had some nice times with Sacha kicking around ideas, but he went off and told untruths about what happened.“May further denied Cohen’s allegations, saying:
“Why would he go away and say that we didn’t want to make a gritty film? Are we the kind of people who have ever ducked from the truth? I don’t think so.”
Brian May also applauded the decision to part ways with Sacha Baron Cohen “for very good reasons, which will become apparent if you watch what he’s done recently,” which was an apparent shot at the actor’s latest comedy The Brothers Grimsby.
Needless to say it appears that Brian May can shred more than a guitar solo if you rile him up.
