Producer Joel Silver says Sherlock Holmes 3 may start filming in the autumn – and more sequels are planned for the near future…
It’d be hard to blame you if you took news of a long awaited third installment of the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ action-adventure series with a grain of salt…after all, it has taken 5 years just to get this far, the busy schedules of movie stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law have presumably been too cluttered to entertain entertaining us as the Victorian crime fighting duo.
But the film’s primary producer (other than Downey and his wife Susan) has stepped forward to publicly commit to filming a new movie in the year 2016.
“Downey says he wants to do it. He’s gotta launch into another Avengers movie, right after the new year, so we’re trying to get it done”, said Joel Silver.

Director Guy Ritchie is keen to saddle up for a third movie with his veteran cast, and producer Joel Silver confirms that an exciting script is in place.
So it appears that it’s all systems go, the band is getting back together…and audiences can expect a delightful new caper in time for the summer of 2017!
Silver further teased that the best was yet to come when questioned whether or not “Sherlock Holmes 3” would be the final chapter for the series, Silver remarked “I don’t think so. How many Bond films have they made? As long as there’s a character, we can work with it. It’s not an end story”.
Clearly the intentions are for more Sherlock Holmes films, the details are merely elementary…
