2016 American Idol Farewell Season Ended with a Bang!
Trent Harmon Could Be The Last American Idol Winner!
, a 25 year-old singer from Mississippi, who was earlier diagnosed with mono and was encouraged to just quit the competition pushed his limits and bested La’Porsha Renae.
While Ryan Seacrest, host, was announcing that he’s the newest and probably the last American Idol ever, Trent Harmon being so emotional, fell to his knees on the AI stage.

This was what he got to say:
“So much decompression got to leave my body in that moment. That’s why I fell on the ground because I finally got to take a breath. I haven’t taken a breath in almost a year. This may sound strange but it’s true. I am fully aware of the fact that all that happened tonight got me to the bottom of the next level. That’s all I really wanted, I just wanted a fighting chance. This doesn’t put me at the top of the radio, it doesn’t put me in the top 100, it just gets me to the bottom of the next level up and I’m good with that.”

Aside from the title American Idol, Trent’s victory include a contract with Big Machine Records, a cash prize, and a Ford car. Renae on the other hand, won’t go home empty-handed. The runner-up will also get an exclusive deal with Big Machine Records.

Although the show was dubbed the “Farewell Season”, many are still speculating that this could not be the last time we’ll be seeing AI. Fans believe that Ryan Seacrest’s spiel, “Good night, America…..for now” meant there’s a continuation in the future we are just uncertain when.

In another report, Trent humbly shared that the secret to winning. He said that it is simple, it’s preparation. He mentioned:
“I quote one of my favorite basketball coaches, Mr. Bobby Knight, ‘Everybody wants to win. Not everybody prepares to win. I prepared to win in July. I prepared to win 25 years ago when I was riding around in a tractor with headphones in my ears.'”
