Anton Yelchin was a rising star as a character actor, the 27-year-old Soviet born American had carved an impressive niche for himself on the silver screen in recent years.
That all ended tragically and in unforeseen fashion this past weekend, when the promising young talent was found with his lifeless body crushed against his brick mailbox with his idling Jeep Cherokee pinning him in place.
For now the death has been ruled a stunning accident, it appears as though Yelchin’s Jeep rolled out of neutral, down the slope of the driveway at his Los Angeles home, and trapped the unsuspecting actor against his brick mailbox while he was attempting to close the gate.
Photograph’s of the scene provide a horrifying glimpse at the magnitude of the impact of the several ton SUV rolling down the hill, as the home’s gate shows damage from the vehicle’s collision…the same collision which ended the life of Anton Yelchin.
Yelchin’s shocked peers and co-stars took to social media to grieve for their fallen friend, Anton is slated to star in what is unexpectedly to be his final film, Star Trek: Beyond, later this summer.
