It was barely three years ago when the queen of modern music divas graced the stage for a Super Bowl halftime for the ages. Now it seems that an encore was absolutely inevitable, so popular is the music titan that it’s been announced she will appear alongside headliner Coldplay at this year’s Super Bowl halftime extravaganza. A mystery act, rumored to be Bruno Mars, is also slated to make an appearance.
But we can’t help but feel a little sorry for whichever star proves unlucky enough to go on after Beyonce…that will be a near impossible act to follow. Already Coldplay, a band that is among the biggest in the world today (and the supposed centerpiece of the halftime festivities), has been upstaged by the mere announcement that the former Destiny’s Child singer will be sharing the stage.
It has been reported that the music giants will duet the anthem “Hymn for the Weekend”, a popular track off of Coldplay’s latest album. But it really doesn’t matter how accommodating Coldplay tries to be, all eyes will remain firmly transfixed upon Bey.
The pop icon is currently dominating social media with buzz surrounding her surprise performance alongside a drag clad Channing Tatum, where the two delighted a live audience on Spike TV’s popular show “Lip Sync Battle” with their mega-watt star power.
The showstopping lip sync battle lasted less than a minute, as Beyonce dominated by mouthing the words of her own song “Run the World (Girls)”. So large and in charge was the pop princess, that Channing Tatum had no choice but to literally bow down before her. And the crowd went understandably wild, eating out of the palm of her hand, this diva proved she can do no wrong on stage.
Now if she could just improve her taste in men…but that’s for another time.
