“It’s been a long day without you my friend. And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again.”
As if the lyrics could not express the emotions enough, Vin Diesel sang those lines at the recently concluded People’s Choice Awards in remembrance of his good friend, Paul Walker. Diesel accepted two awards for the movie Furious 7 – Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Film.
Like in the past, he gets emotional and choked up remembering gone times and a gone brother. “I was cool while I was sitting in my seat, and then they handed me two awards. One for favorite action movie, and one for favorite film,” he said. “You all thought this was your favorite film… so I think of Dom and Brian, and I start to think of Paul.”
“It was a labor of love,” Diesel mentioned. “My only message to you is: you’d be amazed what you can do with love. You’d be amazed how powerful of a force that is. When we didn’t want to come back to filming when the tragedy was too heavy, it was the love of everyone combined that saw [us] through to the end, and now is standing here with all of you telling me this was your favorite film of the year.”
His emotions were translated to Khalifa’s “See You Again”, to end his acceptance speech. It’s evident; he still misses his friend every day.
