Actor Daniel Craig has been offered a king’s ransom in an effort to bribe him in to returning as Her Majesty’s favorite on-screen spy.
The 007 actor, who is four films deep into the character of James Bond, has been outspoken about his fatigue for the role…but the producers are hoping that money talks, and are willing to back a truck load of cash into his swimming pool if he’ll agree to return to the role for two more movies.
“The studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor,” an anonymous source confided to Radar online.
The same source indicates that Craig’s playing hard to get act has worked in his favor very lucratively, saying that Craig “has played a genius hand.”
Craig reportedly turned down an earlier offer of $68 million to reprise his role as Bond, and the price keeps going up until he finally says “yes”.
In the interim, the backup plan is to find the future James Bond, but the studio is hoping that it can take its time, confident that Daniel Craig will helm the franchise for two more outings while they find the perfect way to re-cast the role after he retires his tuxedo and Martini.
Sony has yet to publicly comment on the reported $150 million dollar offer.
