Everybody seems to be dropping surprise projects, such as Rihanna‘s much awaited album Anti or a music video of Beyonce with pop-rock band Coldplay leading up to their Super Bowl performance. Not to be outdone Drake stepped up to surprise his fans as well, releasing a new song, Summer Sixteen.

On Drake’s OVO Sound Radio show on Beats, the singer-rapper released his playful track. Typical of his song style, he takes cool shots at everyone from President Obama, who prefers Kendrick Lamar (“Tell Obama that my verses are just like the whips that he in / They bulletproof”), to Jay Z (“I used to want to be on Roc-A-Fella / Then I turned into Jay”) and even to Kanye West‘s pool (“Now I got a house in L.A., now I got a bigger pool than Ye / And look man, Ye’s pool is nice / Mine’s just big is what I’m saying”).

The track also takes some shots at his arch rival Meek Mill (who also naturally dropped a track War Pain that insults the singer). The song then concludes with DJ Khaled who reiterates Drake’s point on Kanye’s pool: “They don’t want us to have a bigger pool than Kanye!”

“Summer Sixteen” is the first single of his next album entitled Views From The 6, which will be released in April of this year.
So stay tuned…
