When will the “Panama Papers” reign of terror end?
Back in April, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalism, a nonprofit organization based in Washington and made up a vast array of journalists from over 70 countries, released the now infamous “Panama Papers,” consisting of more than 11.5 million records regarding the offshore holdings of the rich and famous.
The revelations within the papers have exposed multiple high profile celebrities and politicians in their schemes to hide money away from the tax man in offshore accounts…and now even “Harry Potter” starlet and U.N. women’s goodwill ambassador Emma Watson is caught up in the fiasco for apparently holding some secretive overseas financial endeavors…

Emma’s reps were quick to try and spin the story and do damage control…claiming all of her offshore accounts were there for a matter of privacy, and not financial gain…no word if they also offered ocean front property in Arizona to those they think will actually believe this yarn.
“Emma (like many high profile individuals) set up an offshore company for the sole purpose of protecting her anonymity and safety,” a statement offered by Watson’s publicity people claimed.
“Emma receives absolutely no tax or monetary advantages from this offshore company whatsoever – only privacy,” the statement concluded.
Emma Watson isn’t likely to be the last celebrity cited for offshore dealings, as the ICIJ launched a searchable database for 200,000 entities related to the “Panama Papers” on Monday.
Something makes us suspect Emma wishes she could borrow Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak right about now…
