Kate Winslet was in joyful tears for Leo’s Oscar win!
The red carpet embraced and welcomed two of its favorite icons: Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, Jack and Rose themselves, as the two movie giants were seen together laughing and visiting before the start of the 88th Academy Awards ceremony Sunday night.
Winslet was very vocal in her support for DiCaprio to finally take an Oscar home for his performance in “The Revenant” this year. She has been a proud and constant advocate for her friend Leo since they first worked together all those years ago. Both actors are nominated for Academy Awards this year (Winslet in the Best Supporting Actress category for Steve Jobs and DiCaprio in Best Actor for The Revenant).
Kate and Leo worshipers have been thrilled by their public reunions in the past few weeks as they’ve been seen multiple times over the course of awards season. Getting a glimpse of Winslet and DiCaprio on the red carpet together brings fans back to the 1998 Academy Awards, when Titanic bagged 11 Oscars out of 14 nominations (Winslet was nominated for Best Actress, but lost to Helen Hunt).
Finally, the Oscar was much deserved Leo, and so is your amazing friendship with Kate Winslet.
