They say no man is an island, and in the world of celebrity security it appears no celebrity estate is a fortress either.
Following Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery, security experts are warning that 95 percent of the world’s rich and famous don’t take their personal safety seriously.
Kris Herzog, whose firm the Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills hires former Navy SEALs, retired elite US vets and police officers, said, “What happened to Kim should be a wake-up call to all celebrities. The majority of A-list stars have no idea what real physical security is. Most don’t have any armed security watching their homes at night. Most go out alone or with only one bodyguard, and all he is going to do is react after you have been shot or stabbed. No matter how diligent or brave your bodyguard is, all he is going to do is watch you die in his arms.”
Army vet Herzog — whose firm has protected the likes of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, Kardashian, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and LeBron James — cited the terrifying 2014 incident in which Sandra Bullock confronted a stalker inside her LA mansion, and cops subsequently found an arsenal of guns at his home.
He said, “I ran into her a few years prior to that, and she told me she didn’t have a bodyguard and her home security was an alarm.” We’re told that since the incident, Bullock — like Kardashian — has dramatically increased security.
Herzog ominously added: “The truth is Sandra is lucky to be alive. As is Kim: The only reason she wasn’t physically hurt, or worse, in Paris was because her attackers didn’t feel like it on that night.”
