It’s not easy being the daughter of a famous celebrity, and it’s definitely no walk in the park to be the eldest child of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. Which only made for additional scrutiny upon Paris Jackson when she had a meltdown that let the whole world know what she was thinking and feeling via social media.
As audiences, we can’t really be aware of what’s going on in a celebrity’s life, let alone what their family has to go through every day. Paris is no stranger to the cruelty of the online world and aired out her feelings through her Instagram account.
In the video, she started by saying:
“I don’t understand how there can be so much hatred in the world right now. I’ve tried sticking up for myself. I’ve tried the whole blocking the haters thing, not reading the comments. I’ve tried a lot of things. I don’t get why I’m such an easy target. I try to be nice to everybody that I meet. I give everyone a chance. I’m usually a trusting person. I try to be open with you guys about what I do on a daily basis. I share my life with you. I don’t hide a lot. I’m very public. I’m sorry if there’s something that I’m doing that you guys don’t like. Maybe I’m too public. I don’t know.”
Paris was obviously upset as she spoke to the camera with tearful eyes. The 18-year-old is having a hard time processing all the hatred that she’s received since she was 14. She even opened up that she tried killing herself back then due to all the hate she was getting. That was also the time she took a two-year break from social media. However, when she returned, she described the experience as “nothing changed.”
She continued to share that she also feels for her friend Sofia Richie who was cyberbullied just because she was dating Justin Bieber. She said she’s been friends with Sofia since they were 12 or 13 and describes her as “one of the sweetest girls in the world” and yet, bullies are telling her to kill herself. She went on to say that she can’t blame Justin for deleting his Instagram account if he keeps getting harassed every day.
i don’t blame justin for deleting his instagram account. the type of harassment i see on my account daily is enough to make someone suicidal

At the end of the video, Paris made an uncensored request. She said, “We’re human beings, man. We got hearts and brains and feelings and when you say damaging things to people…it f–ks them up. It really f–ks people up when you do that and I don’t know if that’s what you want, but its exhausting. Really and truly—it’s exhausting.”
The video has been deleted and Paris opted to upload a photo of herself in the tub instead. She captioned it “Looks like i’m the villain now. didn’t know defending myself was a crime. my dearest apologies.”

No one deserves to be cyberbullied and no one deserves to receive hate. We hope people out there can hear what Paris is saying, not just for her own sake, but for everyone’s too!
